Blue Moon Beer Groom's Cake

This cake was requested for a groom to be who loves Blue Moon Beer.  He requested that the cake be 'funfetti' and that he and his new baby son be represented on his cake somehow.  I had edible images made of the beer logos and went to work on the rest.  Isomalt was used to create the ice cubes and I was able to drip some on the beer cans to make it look like condensation.

Where the Wild Things Are

Each 'monster' was traced in fondant and  hand painted. The cake is chocolate on bottom, and white on top, iced in buttercream and covered in fondant decorations.  I got some special guest help from Rachel Ratcliffe who helped me with creating the stars and the 1 on the boat.  Thanks Rachel!!

Sweet 16 Bling!

I hate it when I do this but I couldn't find my camera until I had already put the cake in the box for pick up.  This was a sweet 16 birthday cake for a friend's daughter.  She loves a band that's represented on the balloons and the tiara.  I was asked to put lots of 'bling' on it cause this girl's got style!

Marriage of spirits

This cake was for a wedding at the end of February.  The bride wanted it to represent both of them.  I found edible images in the same pattern as the groom's vest and the 'bride side' was a simple but elegant leaf pattern but all in white.  All the leaves and other decorations (leaves, tree trunk, vines) were made of fondant and the fresh flowers were added at the venue.

Turtle Power!

The eyes watch you!
Back of cake
Jacob's eyes lit up when he saw what his BB had ordered for him.  He was so excited to see his cake and I was equally excited to see him get it.  That's what it's all about!

Let it go... Again!

Frozen was a big hit this year.  I had fun making these cakes.  It was like going back in time to when Barbie doll dress cakes were all the rage.  I found some super cute snowflake cutters for decorations and used on both cakes.  The cakes were made using my pampered chef glass mixing bowl.  It was the perfect shape and no cutting was required except for the hole for where the dolls had to be placed.

Spidey is cool

This was a cake for a lucky 6 year old named Logan. I got the image from a coloring book and then blew it up a little bit so it would fit the cake.  Just traced and followed the shading from the coloring book pattern.  I liked the web he was holding.  Do you like how his armpit is talking?  Need to work on message placement.  haha.

Let it Go!!!!!!!

This cake is for a very special birthday girl who loves Frozen. The original picture had just the top three characters but we added in a few more.  The snowflakes were cookie cut outs and then using smaller cutters, I gave them some extra character.  The main part of the cake is covered in buttercream and the snowflake accents were gumpaste or sprinkles.

"It's my spirit animal"

They can be real on a cake.  Happy 15th Landon!

This spells Love

This was a cake for a Scrabble lover's birthday.  It  had some extra special messages built right in.  The scrabble tiles and  tile trays were made by hand.  The board was hand painted.

Curious George - almost

This was cake I made for a boy's second birthday party.  It was ultimately going to be topped with a Curious George topper.  The  polka dots and 'ribbon' was made from modeling chocolate.  Much better flavor than fondant.

Christmas at work

I made these treats for a fundraiser at work.  I saw a little video on how to make a mini cupcake tree and wanted to try it out.  I think it turned out pretty cute.  I used almond M&Ms and Mike and Ike candies to make 'lights' for the tree.

Would anyone like a 'Pez' of cake?

This was a birthday cake for a PEZ collector.  We decided to make the 'head' a cake since it seemed the most appropriate.  The entire cake is covered in buttercream only.  The only items fondant are the fake 'candles'.

New Baby on the Way!

This cake was for a little football star on the way.  The little feet were made of modeling chocolate, the (1/2) football was rice crispy treat.  Hmmm I wonder what team they like?

Little Pumpkin

This cake was for a  little girl's 2nd birthday.  The cake is all buttercream icing.  The leaves on the pumpkin are made with fondant, the stem of modeling chocolate. The acorns are made of caramels and tootsie rolls!
