I made these two cakes, on two separate occasions for the same boy. He loves comic book heros and I was excited to take up the challenge. Yay coloring books for ideas and tips on shading.
I have always been fascinated by what people can do with a cake and some icing. I love challenging myself to see if I can do what others have made using the same medium. If you need a cake, let's talk! ~Kelly (a.k.a. Pony)

McNeil Grad
This cake was for the graduation of a very busy and ambitious young lady. The graduate had played softball in school and planned on studying nursing in college. We created a themed layer for each interest. And the top was of course the graduation hat. Congrats to the grad!
Duck Dynasty
A good friend of mine has a son who loves Duck Dynasty. (I do too.) What better words to live by and to wish for him on his birthday....HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY. The little duck was kind of an afterthought ..but it turned out cute and it was made from icing only.
Little Mermaid Cake
This cake was made for a very discerning young lady. She insisted that she wanted and Ariel cake and that she had to be wearing a princess dress. But what's the little mermaid without a few shells and sand. To cover it all, I used a layer for the 'princess side' trying to mimic the dress she was wearing and a layer for the 'mermaid side'with all the things found in the sea. It was a hit.
Geaux Tigers!
This was a cake that I made for a friend's father in law. He is a huge LSU Tiger's fan. She found a picture that we used as a guide. He was thrilled with the result. My only caveat was I told her she had to say an Aggie made it for him. :)
