I have always been fascinated by what people can do with a cake and some icing. I love challenging myself to see if I can do what others have made using the same medium. If you need a cake, let's talk! ~Kelly (a.k.a. Pony)

Tennis Anyone?
This cake was for my fake cousin Angie. Her husband, my fake cousin Alan asked me to make it for her birthday and we surprised her with it. She loves tennis so of course her cake had to be tennis related. This was modeled off of her actual Wilson tennis racket. This cake was covered, not in fondant, but modeling chocolate. This is a new medium that I've been learning about. The chocolate is a little less tolerant of temperature changes but it's way better tasting. The tennis balls are sugar cookies covered in buttercream and then a layer of modeling chocolate.
Ice Cream Birthday Theme
This cake was made for a girl's birthday party. The ice cream cone, scoops and cherry are all hand made from gumpaste. I loved the colors on this one. I think it turned out pretty well!

Lion Grad
This was requested by a coworker who'd seen a similar cake on my blog. (Yay, it's working!!) Her son attends Granger High School and is graduating this year. The mascot symbols are made of gum paste and hand painted. Granger's colors are purple and gold. For some reason the picture came out looking very blue though in person, it's true purple .
Trying something new
This cake was for the birthday of a long time customer. :) I was given free reign on what to do decoration wise, so I tried out an hombre technique that I'd seen on a video. The roses are hand made from gumpaste using another new technique. Got brave on this one.
John Deere Cake
This was for a friend whose son loves his John Deere Gator. The cake was shared with his classmates at school. I think he liked it cause his mom got a HUGE hug from him after the party!!
p.s. big shredded wheat makes pretty good looking hay bales.
